A Special-Themed Portrait Session is more theatrical than our other sessions, but it’s built on the exact same foundation: careful guidance, and a studio where nothing is expected of you except to show up. Whether you’re drawn to wings — in white or black — flowing tulle, or dance-inspired movement, the goal is the same: a portrait that feels closer to art than to a straightforward photograph.
Alena starts with a consultation to talk through which direction feels right for you, and to plan the styling, fabric, and mood together. Wardrobe and props are a bigger part of what makes these sessions distinct, so this conversation matters even more here than in a standard session.
During the session, Alena guides you through poses and movement step by step. If tulle or wings are part of your session, she’ll show you how to move with them so the fabric or feathers become part of the image, rather than something you have to manage yourself. Nerves are normal here too; the theatrical setting tends to make people loosen up faster than they expect.
Afterward, you’ll receive a private online gallery to choose your favorites, and each image is retouched by hand in Alena’s signature style.
Women who want a portrait that goes beyond a classic session — something bolder, more cinematic, closer to art than to a plain photograph. Some clients choose this as a next step after a Signature or Boudoir session, once they’re comfortable in front of the camera and ready for more drama. Others come specifically for this look — the wings, the movement of tulle, or the expression of dance — because it captures something a straightforward portrait can’t.

Some basic dance skills are recommended so the movement reads naturally in the photos. If you have little to no dance background, the wings or tulle sessions may be a better fit — those don’t require any prior experience.
You choose one direction per session — wings, tulle, or dance — rather than combining them. We’ll talk through which fits your vision best during the consultation.
No, these are provided as part of the studio’s wardrobe and props. You’re welcome to bring your own if you already have something in mind.

Typically between 30 minutes and one hour, depending on the collection you choose and how many looks — wings, tulle, dance — are included.
In general you’ll get access to your private online gallery within 2–3 weeks of your session.
