Massen Photography Sàrl-S ("Massen Photography", "we", "us") is a professional photography studio based in Luxembourg, offering portrait and family photography through www.massenphotography.lu, and wedding photography through www.weddingsbymassen.lu. We are the data controller responsible for the personal data we collect through both websites and in the course of providing our services.

2. What Personal Data We Collect and Why
2.1 Portrait and Family Enquiries and Bookings
When you contact us or book a session through www.massenphotography.lu, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and any information you share in your message. We use this to respond to your enquiry and manage your booking.
Legal basis: Performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
Retention: 12 months after last contact if no booking follows. For clients who book, see section 2.3.
2.2 Wedding Enquiries and Bookings
When you contact us or book a wedding through www.weddingsbymassen.lu, we collect the names of both partners, your email address, phone number, wedding date, venue, and any other details you share. For confirmed weddings, we also collect the information necessary to draw up and execute a wedding photography contract, which may include your postal address.
We use this data to respond to your enquiry, prepare and manage your wedding contract, coordinate on the day, and deliver your photographs.

2.3 Invoicing and Payments
When you book and pay for any service, we retain your name, address, email address, and invoice details as required for our accounting records. We do not store full card numbers.
Legal basis: Performance of a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) and legal obligation to maintain accounting records under Luxembourg law (loi du 19 décembre 2002) (GDPR Art. 6(1)(c)).
Retention: 10 years from the date of the invoice, as required by Luxembourg accounting law.
2.4 Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter on either website, we collect your name and email address to send you news, offers, and updates about our work.
Legal basis: Your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking "unsubscribe" in any newsletter email or by contacting us at portraits@massenphotography.lu.
Retention: Until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
2.5 Your Photographs
During any photography session — portrait, family, or wedding — we create images in which you may be identifiable. In accordance with our General Terms and Conditions, we may use a selection of these images to promote our work — for example on our websites, social media channels, exhibitions, publications, or photography competitions. We never disclose your surname or address alongside any image.
Legal basis: Our legitimate interests in promoting our photography services through portfolio imagery (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
Your right to object: You may object to this promotional use at any time by emailing portraits@massenphotography.lu. We will stop using the relevant images promptly upon receipt of your request. This right does not apply to images in which you are not recognisable.
2.6 Website Analytics and Cookies
Both websites use cookies and analytics tools (including Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the site. This data is collected only with your consent, which you give through the cookie banner when you first visit.
Legal basis: Your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). You can change or withdraw your cookie preferences at any time via the consent banner.

3. Who We Share Your Data With
We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with the following categories of third parties, only to the extent necessary:
- Google: We use Google Analytics to measure website performance and Google Fonts for site display. We have a data processing agreement with Google. Full IP addresses are not transmitted. Google may not use this data for its own services.
- Email service provider: We use a third-party platform to send newsletters. This provider processes your name and email address on our behalf under a data processing agreement.
- Online gallery and file delivery platforms: We use secure online gallery and file transfer services (such as Pic-Time or WeTransfer) to deliver your photographs. These services process your email address on our behalf under appropriate agreements.
- Payment processor: Payment transactions may be handled by a third-party payment provider. We do not store full card or bank account numbers.
- Legal authorities: We may disclose personal data if required by law, court order, or a competent authority.
- Business transfers: In the event of a sale, merger, or acquisition, your data may be transferred to the new entity, subject to equivalent privacy protections.
4. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. Access is limited to those who need it, and our security practices are reviewed regularly.
